This Ontario Park with a rushing waterfall has views of peak autumn hues

The time is here! Yep, the colours of fall are peaking at parks around Ontario and it’s time to get out and enjoy them. Arrowhead Provincial Park is one of them, currently experiencing autumn hues at their very best.

The park has more to explore too, including a rushing waterfall!

Let’s start planning your visit.

Getting there

Arrowhead Provincial Park is in the gateway to cottage country: Huntsville, Ontario.

Getting to the park by car will take you around two and a half hours if you’re driving from Toronto.

There is a day fee upon entering the park which is $12.25 per vehicle.

Things to do at Arrowhead Provincial Park

The first thing you’ll want to do is check out the autumn colours. According to Ontario Park’s fall colour report, Arrowhead is at its peak for changing colours.

One of the best spots to see the colours in the park is from Big Bend Lookout. The lookout is just a quick walk from the parking lot at Roe Campground Road.

The easy walk leads to a panoramic view of the Big East River and “the surrounding Muskoka terrain”.

Snap your photos and then make your way to Stubb’s Falls Trail! This trail is also marked as easy.

The 2 km hike leads visitors to Stubb’s Falls where the  Little East River rushes down a rock chute. This is a great place to rest and enjoy some sights before you wrap up your day at Arrowhead Provincial Park.

Less than three hours from Toronto with stunning views? Sounds like a road trip is in the near future.
