One of the most recognized names in Hollywood is making her way to Toronto for TIFF! Award-winning actor, producer, writer, director, and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, is attending the Toronto International Film Festival to accept the TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media.

So, what does that mean?

TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media

According to TIFF, the honour “recognizes leadership in creating a union between social impact and cinema.”

TIFF also mentions that Jolie will be honoured alongside Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Durga Chew-Bose, David Cronenberg, Clément Ducol and Camille, Jharrel Jerome, Mike Leigh, and Zhao Tao, with Sandra Oh “serving as the inaugural Honorary Chair of the fundraising gala.”

“Angelina Jolie is a multifaceted talent who has entertained audiences for decades while consistently using her platform to champion important causes,” says Cameon Bailey, CEO, TIFF.

“We’re honoured to present her with the 2024 TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media. This award recognizes her exceptional achievements in filmmaking, and her unwavering commitment for positive change, solidifying her status as a veritable humanitarian and global force to be reckoned with.”

When

Jolie will be honoured on Sunday, September 8th, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, marking the final honouree announcement.

Not only will Jolie be honoured on the 8th, it’s also the World Premiere of her latest project “Without Blood”.

The project is written, directed, and produced by Jolie, described as “an unforgettable saga set in the aftermath of an unidentified conflict that explores universal truths about war, trauma, memory, and healing.”
