Well, folks, just last week we reported that Washington state planned to open COVID-19 vaccines to all adults on May 1st. And it turns out that the timeline is actually getting pushed forward! So that means Washingtonians over the age of 16 will be able to get the vaccine on April 15th!

This change comes after the most at-risk state residents have been vaccinated through the tier system. However, the state is still giving priority to populations that are disproportionately affected by the virus. And as we’re sure you know, Washington has seen an uptick in COVID-19 cases so the expanded vaccine availability is a welcome change.

Now it’s important to note that the people eligible for the vaccine on April 15th are people “16 years or older with 2 or more comorbidities or underlying conditions”. So with that information please do the right thing. The state expects you to be honest and continue to wait if these conditions do not apply to you.

We totally understand that the wait is frustrating and hard. After all, no one wants to deal with a 4th wave. But hold on just a bit longer because Washington is doing a great job of getting folks vaccinated. In fact, 3.3 million doses have been administered in Washington and over one million residents have been fully vaccinated.
