Albertans over 18 can now book their booster shot & here’s what to know

With Omicron cases on the rise, the Government of Alberta just made a major announcement regarding COVID-19 booster shots for those over the age of 18.

If you’re among the many waiting for the green light to get their third dose of the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, today is a big day because starting immediately, adults who have received their first two jabs (with the last one being at least 5 months ago) will be able to book another one at their local pharmacy.

“There is still a lot that we don’t know about Omicron. But one thing we do know is that the most powerful protection from this highly contagious variant is to get a booster shot,” Premier Jason Kenney said in a press release.

“I urge all Albertans to step up and protect themselves and the healthcare system with a booster as soon as they can.”

For more information on the COVID-19 booster shot in Alberta, or to book yours today, please visit the government website here or call 811.

Be safe, be smart and be vigilant, folks! Let’s show this variant who’s boss.
