This Alberta island has a soft-sand beach & tree covered trails

Seeking adventure? Check out Kinbrook Island, a provincial park located 2 and a half hours southeast of Calgary.

Here, visitors can relax under the shade of a towering tree, take photos of wildlife, and even get a tan on an Alberta beach.

With soft sand, a beautiful view, and a boat launch there are few places better suited for a weekend getaway, especially if you consider yourself a happy camper.

In addition to the fabulous shoreline, they’ve also got a waterfront site with 160 stalls suitable for RVs and tents, showers, playgrounds and even a laundromat.

Love birds? It gets better!

Kinbrook Island actually has an interpretive marsh trail where you can play hide and seek with the resident white pelicans, ring-billed gulls, double-crested cormorants, great blue herons and ducks.

No matter you’re favourite summer activity, you’re in for a treat – plus it’s fairly easy to get to!

To get there, head 13 km south of Brooks off Highway 873, but book ahead, Alberta

They fill up quickly – especially during peak months.

Happy travelling and enjoy!
