This week, let your imagination take flight as High River’s Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival returns, filling the sky above with colourful zeppelins, wicker baskets, and dozens of competitors looking to outsoar other teams from all over the world.

Every year, crews from all over the globe go head to head in the hopes of scoring points for everything and anything from navigation to landing on target and fans watch in awe for one reason. It’s mesmerizing.

Every morning between September 22nd and the 26th, get up close (but not too close) and personal (but not too personal) with vendors and pilots who will inflate, control and direct their beautiful hot air balloons through the space overhead.

Sadly, this year, due to COVID, the nighttime Balloon Glow event will be cancelled, however, it could be back in 2022.

In addition to this, guests attending the daytime extravaganza will have to stay 2 metres away from others in order to prevent the spread of the virus – but this should be of no difficulty considering a large field is necessary for all contestants to set up properly.

Either this even will totally change your life, or it’ll give your Instagram a bit of an umph so really, what’s stopping you?
