Magical Alberta towns that will make you feel like you’re in a ‘Hallmark’ movie

Christmas in a big city has its charm, but the holidays are also a great time to reset. This season, visit a small Alberta town, village, or hamlet and get back to the basics.
Whether you want to cross a few things off your good list, or just want to breathe in some fresh mountain air, there is no shortage of incredible places to get away or shop until you drop right here in Wild Rose Country.
Planning a staycation? Here are a few places that will make you feel like you’re in a ‘Hallmark’ movie.
Drumheller
Located northeast of Calgary, Drumheller is a spectacular town with plenty to do and see no matter the season. Here you can visit the world’s largest dinosaur, hoodoos, museums, and on Saturday, November 25th, 2024—the annual Festival of Lights.
A cozy kick-off to the holiday season, this particular event is meant to bring the community, local businesses, and visitors together all in the name of wonder and whimsy.
From late-night shopping and Santa Claus to bonfires and lights, there’s no better time than in the colder months to visit.
