Alberta’s 2022 fall forecast is here & this is what we can expect

Summer is nearing its end for the 2022 season, but there’s no need to fret. It’ll be back before you know it – in the meantime, we’ve got fall leaves to jump into!

As anyone who has lived in Wild Rose Country knows all too well – the return of Pumpkin spice and the Sanderson Sisters also means an autumn chill is on its way, but what can we expect this time around?

For all those who dread having to dust off their warmest pair of boots, The Weather Network has released its Fall forecast for Alberta!

“Most Canadians are enjoying an extended summer season with dry weather and mid-summer-like temperatures continuing deep into September,” Chris Scott, TWN’s Chief Meteorologist said in a press release.

“Extended periods of pleasant fall weather are expected to last through much of October across most of the country,” which is pretty great news.

From coast to coast, The Weather Network is calling for near or above normal temperatures going into this season – so get comfortable – but not too comfortable. Winter certainly won’t follow suit and it’ll probably hit us sooner rather than later.

“Warmer than normal temperatures are expected across southern parts of the [Prairies] region, especially during the first half of the season,” they wrote.

“Later in the season, we expect a more typical pattern to develop which will include changeable temperatures and a few tastes of early winter-like weather.”

Luckily, we’ve got much to look forward to until then – so live it up. It’s going to be a standard season, according to their Fall forecast for Alberta – but snow is inevitable.

Enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts!
