Where you can get lost in an Alberta corn maze this fall

The leaves are changing colour. Pumpkins are starting to appear at grocery stores. Yes, fall is arriving, which explains the sudden urge you may have to experience classic autumn activities straight out of a Pinterest board.

If the siren song of corn mazes is calling out to you, you’re in luck — Alberta has no shortage of corn mazes to get lost in, along with other seasonal activities. Here are some options to get you started.

Calgary Farmyard

Located just 30 minutes from Calgary’s city centre, The Calgary Farmyard is a close-to-home option full of fall fun. We’re talking a petting zoo, wagon rides, and of course, a sprawling corn maze.

Where: 284022 Township Rd. 224, Rocky View County

The Sunny Spot

An outdoor eatery, mini golf course, and dinosaur-themed corn maze are all the ingredients needed to cook up a great day under the autumn sun.

Where: 5225 Highway 10 E., Drumheller

The Edmonton Corn Maze

The Edmonton Corn Maze is celebrating 25 seasons of family fun and adventures in the heart of Alberta. While you’re there, you can also enjoy on-site mini golf, farmyard games, pumpkin patches, and more.

Where: 26171 Garden Valley Rd., Spruce Grove

Brooks Corn Maze

Each year brings a new theme, and if you find all the clues hidden in the maze, you’ll be entered to win a $150 grand prize. And be sure to bring your sweet tooth, because until the first frost hits, visitors are welcome to pick the abundance of raspberries growing on-site.

Where: Industrial Road off 7th Street E., Brooks

Kraay Family Farm

For 25 years, the Kraay Family Farm corn mazes have been different designs, and this year’s honours the 40th anniversary of STARS Alberta. To up the ante, all proceeds from the season will be donated to STARS to help continue its life-saving work.

Where: Site 6 Box 9 RR 1, Lacombe

Lethbridge Corn Maze

One of Alberta’s first corn mazes promises a full day of fun and authentic farm adventures. Will you make it out of the maze? Finding the exit can take anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours!

Where: 104051 RR 22-4, Lethbridge

Bowden Sunmaze

Okay, it’s not technically a corn maze, but navigating the fields of sunflowers results in an equally whimsical feeling. Be sure to visit before the first frost hits!

Where: 34530 RR 14, Red Deer County
