10 Calgary spas and wellness spaces to visit when you need a fall reset

Your fall calendar likely already has enough going on, so we’re making a case to add one more thing that involves absolutely no errands, emails, or responsibilities. Calgary has a growing list of spas and wellness spaces where you can spend a few hours switching off, from Nordic-style experiences to head spas and floating sessions. And with the colder months creeping in, there’s no better time to find a new spot to escape to for a few hours.

To take the stress off, we’ve rounded up 10 of the city’s highly rated places for a reset.

Let’s jump into it!

SKA Thermal Spa (Beltline)

SKA Thermal Spa features a hot-and-cold circuit with a hot vitality pool, cold plunge, steam room, dry sauna, and infrared sauna all under one roof. You can spend your visit rotating between the different experiences or add on a massage or facial to the day.

Where: 638 11th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta.

Leela Eco Spa

Leela Eco Spa offers a wide range of treatments, including massages, facials, acupuncture, and other wellness services. You can also book time in the sauna at its Beltline location if you want to add some heat to your visit.

Where: 720 11th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta. (Various locations across the city)

Cloud Nine Head Spa

Head spas have been all the rage online over the past few years, and if you’ve yet to treat yourself to one, you’re truly missing out. Cloud Nine Head Spa focuses on scalp and hair treatments designed to help you relax while giving your scalp some much-needed attention.

Where: 3333 8th St. SE, Calgary, Alta.

Clear Nordic Spa

If you need a few hours to completely switch off, Clear Nordic Spa is the place to do it. You can spend the day moving between hot and cold pools, saunas, and steam rooms, then take some time to relax in between.

Where: 638 11th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alta.

The Spa Ritual

The Spa Ritual has been a Calgary staple for years, with a menu that covers pretty much every part of a traditional spa day. You can book a massage, facial, or body treatment, or choose one of its packages to combine a few treatments.

Where: 106 Crowfoot Terrace NW, Calgary, Alta.

Thermae Eleven (18+)

Thermae Eleven is Calgary’s first fully outdoor hydrotherapy spa, and during the 105-minute experience you can bounce between hot and cold pools and relax in the cedar saunas, steam rooms, warm stone areas and open-air lounges.

Where: 1034 21st Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.

Oak Leaf Sauna Club

Oak Leaf Sauna Club is a great spot to try if you’ve been curious about the sauna culture you see all over Europe. Spend time between the banya and steam room, then cool off in the cold plunge area.

Where: 1603 62nd Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.

Reset Hydrotherapy

Reset Hydrotherapy focuses on recovery, with services like cold plunges, infrared saunas, red light therapy, and contrast therapy. You can book a session based on what you want to focus on, making it a good spot to work into a busy week when you need a bit of downtime.

Where: 8888 Country Hills Blvd. NW, Calgary, Alta.

Clear Float Spa

At Clear Float Spa, you lie in a private pod filled with high-density saltwater, which lets you float while blocking out most of the sights and sounds around you. You can choose music, lighting, a guided meditation, or to just float in silence.

Where: 335 18th Ave. SW, Unit #105, Calgary, Alta.

Riverside Spa

Tucked along the Bow River in the Point McKay community, Riverside Spa offers massages, facials, body treatments and spa packages, along with access to its eucalyptus steam room and Swiss showers.
