While Oktoberfest events are few and far between in Vancouver, it’s great to know that a local brewery stepped up to the plate! Over the weekend, the folks at Parallel 49 transformed their massive patio into an Oktoberfest Biergarten, complete with a new menu and live entertainment! Yeah, we need to check this out.

Their 120-seat covered patio has become a tribute to the Bavarian festival, with blue-and-white checkered tables cloths, floral touches, and hanging lights. And, just in case you forget where you are for a second, there’s a huge ‘Biergarten’ banner to remind you. Of course, it’ll be hard to do that, especially with the twice-daily polka music concerts.

But of course, what’s delicious beer without something tasty to eat alongside it? The new Oktoberfest food menu features both hearty and light fare, ranging from Currywurst Loaded Fries and a Schnitzel Sandwich to hot pretzels with mustard and even a pumpkin spice cookie. Maybe save the cookie for after your visit, as a little going away treat!

Whatever your plan, this is a great way to take your mind off the start of the rainy season in Vancouver. Swing by when you get the chance folks, because you won’t regret it!
