Big news today for all of our die-hard foodies and hungry passersby’s in and around the inner city area this afternoon! After months of anticipation, the ‘modern nostalgia’ restaurant known as ‘Porch’ has finally opened its doors on 17th Avenue in the former Royale location, answering the question “what do you want to do for dinner tonight?”

Serving a variety of finger foods like hummus, small plates like sliders, and potato salad, as well crowd-pleasing entrees like lobster mac and cheese and burgers – the menu is right on point with what we’d imagine most people’s ideal picnic spread would look like.

Heck, they’ve even got s’mores and hot dogs, though we wouldn’t recommend that you go in expecting buns covered in campsite condiments. Whether it be with aioli’s and caramelized onions, basil pesto or tomato jam, most of their items have been ‘elevated’ in some way, creating a more unique-to-them dining experience.

According to the menu, all cocktails have at least two ounces of alcohol, and one look at the drink menu makes it obvious this will be a solid spot to quench your thirst.

As for the decor – you’re eyes will also be in for quite the treat.

With earthy colours and cobblestone, Porch really played up the outdoorsy aesthetic, even adding swings in lieu of seats at their massive 40-foot bar. Fun, right?

Maybe we’ll see you out there!
