Costco Calgary is bringing it’s everything-in-bulk goodness to the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the new 150,000 square-foot store will be one of many new retailers in the area. How exciting!
The Costco will be a part of a development called Shops at Buffalo Run, but will also serve as an anchor tenant for Taza.
Taza is a 500-hectare, multi-billion-dollar project being built along the Southwest edge of Calgary’s ring road. That’s a ton of zeros, but Taza will include pretty much everything you could imagine. Most notably, an entertainment and hospitality complex, a research campus and a health and wellness component.

This will be the sixth Costco in Calgary, and more importantly, the very first on First Nations land. Restaurants and other stores will open nearby as well, which is sure to bring in flocks of people. The new Costco will open in 2020 and Taza will open shortly after, in 2021. Wowza, we’ll keep our eyes on this one!
