We’ll be the first to admit that the holidays have been at the forefront of our minds these past few weeks, so maybe it’s time to take a little break! Art lovers and us regular folks alike will be able to enjoy another instalment of the VMF Winter Arts festival this February, and there’s a ton to look forward to!
Just as a recap, the VMF Winter Arts Fest is an open-air, free-to-access festival focusing on Augmented Reality (AR) and light installations. The festival is a new venture from the Vancouver Mural Festival, having only kicked off last year. For this year, though, they added more fun options!

Throughout downtown Vancouver, folks will be able to enjoy 11 different installations, located in hotspots like Canada Place, Science World, and šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square. Checking out the installations is simple too, since you just need a newer smartphone with a camera, and Instagram to read the QR codes.
New for this year is the Winter Arts Hub as well! Located at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, this open-air venue will have installations, live entertainment, food trucks, and even a licensed area to enjoy some beverages (either hot or cold)! Definitely worth checking out while it’s on.
The festival will be releasing final details at the start of February, and we’ll update you when it happens!
