When we talked about this being the summer of backyard exploration, we had no idea what we would discover. Like the Instagram account Dino Peaks, which documents a man’s journey to climb mountains in a T-Rex costume for charity.
Originally started as a fundraising idea, this account has been documenting a bunch of summits around the province. According to a recent article by Livewire Calgary, the man behind the dino costume is Richard Pastores, and he’s raised more than $2,000 for community charities.

There’s something entertaining and peaceful in the photos. Maybe it’s the contrast of the natural beauty with the novelty of the dino suit. Whatever the draw, we’re going to keep cheering on this very unique idea. Here’s hoping we can see a crazy winter version of this iconic idea.
You can stay up to date on Dino Peaks via the Instagram account. Once you’ve followed, stay tuned for the next fundraiser idea!
