This festive ice skating plaza in North Vancouver is reopening this week

Even though it’s only been around for a couple of years, The Shipyards Skate Plaza in North Van has become a must-visit for anyone looking to get a few strides in over the winter. After all, not only is it the largest outdoor ice skating surface in the region, but it also offers a ton of nearby amenities to enjoy. Oh, and it’s free to access!

And now, the official reopening date for the 2022/2023 season has been set.

Starting Friday, December 2nd, you can head over and rent some skates for $7 a pop ($5 for kids) and skate to your heart’s content. And if you bring your own, this is a free activity to enjoy!

Enjoy some stunning waterfront views as you skate, and even pop into the nearby Polygon Gallery to make a day of it.

The ice skating plaza will be open from 1 to 8 pm daily. While the website is not currently up-to-date, you can rest assured that their socials have all the deets you need.
