You know us, we normally keep our articles pretty local. But sometimes, something comes up out of state that we just have to talk about. And in this case, that thing happens to be a once-in-a-lifetime Goodwill find in Oklahoma.
Imagine you’re sorting through clothing donations and find $42,000. Unimaginable right? Well not quite because that’s exactly what happened to Goodwill Oklahoma employee Andrea Lessing. Who understandably thought that the money had to be fake. But she quickly realized it wasn’t and did the right thing and notified her supervisor.

Luckily for everyone involved, the cash was actually wrapped with some identifying documents so Goodwill was able to trace the rightful owners. And to make things sweeter, the accidental cash donators gave Lessing $1000 for her honesty. So we’ll take that as a reminder to do the right thing and also that everything comes back around in one way or another.
If you’re wondering, the found cash sets a few records for the company. In fact, it’s the largest cash find at an Oklahoma Goodwill and also one of the largest at any of the thrift chains stores worldwide according to CNN.
