A Calgary man has built a to-scale LEGO replica of the 774-foot Bow Building

If nothing else, COVID has given some of us the opportunity to pick up those old hobbies. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case for Calgary man, Roy Nelson – who has actually been working on his LEGO scale model of the city’s Bow Building for over 5 years.

Finally, after spending over 250 hours of work, $2.500 in materials, and 8,500 blocks, Nelson has finished his ‘pièce de résistance’.

What’s even more impressive, is that this was a side project for the guy! According to CBC News, when he’s not behind the LEGO bin, he’s an analyst for the Calgary Fire Department and a father of two.

I’m selling my Bow Building. If you know someone who might be interested please forward!

We’re no expert, but we’ve got eyes – and this bad boy looks identical to the incredible 774 feet building. Heck, he even included a giant lego head statue out front. It’s uncanny!

Of course, as you can imagine, a structure like this is not something that you can just have displayed in a family household with a 13 and 11-year-old running around. For the time being, Nelson’s Bow Building will be on display at the Brick Bin, a LEGO store in the N.E. until December 14th.

If you like what you see, he also has it listed for sale on Facebook Market Place for $4,000 – which, if you ask us is totally worth it (if you’re a LEGO enthusiast or Calgary’s #1 fan.)

Why not check it out for yourselves, folks! It’s pretty cool. From far away, we might not even be able to tell it apart from the real thing.

BRICK BIN LEGO STORE – BOW BUILDING REPLICA

When: Until Monday, December 14th
Where: 2906 Centre Street NE, Calgary
