Get ready, food lovers. A brand new Persian restaurant called Delara is just about ready to open, and could be doing takeout by the end of this week! The project has been in the works for the past few months, and we can’t wait to try it out. Here’s a little bit of backstory.

Delara will be taking over the old Burgoo spot along West 4th Avenue. Of course, you can expect some nice new interior design, to go alongside the surprisingly light space (considering Burgoo’s homey, hearty feel). But the main draw is the food, and we think it’s going to shine.

The head chef/creator is Bardia Ilbeiggi, who has spent time at L’Abattoir and Farmer’s Apprentice over the years. Those are some pretty big deal names, so we’re confident that he’ll do a fantastic job of bringing authentic Persian dishes to the city.

In fact, we’re sure of it looking at the teasers on Instagram. He’s already shown off dishes like saffron marinated grilled chicken sandwiches and sourdough flatbread with walnut yogurt dip. Basically, the perfect options for a hot summer day in the backyard.

Stay tuned via Instagram for an official opening date, which should be by the end of this week!
