A brand new Greek eatery is coming to Commercial Drive

Guess what folks, a new restaurant called Loula’s Taverna & Bar is getting ready to open on Commercial Drive, and we couldn’t be happier about who’s behind it. A passion project from 3 heavy-hitters in Greek cuisine in the city, Loula’s is all but guaranteed to make a splash once it opens. Here’s the scoop!

The new concept comes from the folks behind Minerva’s, Sopra Sotto and Nammos Estiatorio. Keep in mind that these are all different restaurants, so this is truly a collaborative effort coming down the pipe. We like the sounds of it- each spot has become a neighbourhood staple, whether it’s in Kitsilano, Grandview, or the old Fraserhood.

And while Sopra Sotto is primarily Italian, we think it could add a fun twist to the Old World, a Mediterranean focus that’s coming to Loula’s. According to a press release, the new concept will provide updated versions of time-honoured Greek dishes, similar to what you might see at a family dinner in the 20th century. Speaking of, the focus here will be family-style dining, which is par for the course if you ask us.

While no opening date has been set, the new spot has been in the works for a while! And in fact, they’re hard at work getting the restaurant set up as we speak.

For more info as they get ready to open, we suggest following along on social media. Get ready for a brand new dining option, Vancouver!
