It’s nearly that time again, friends! Marda Loop Marda Gras is back and you deserve to let loose! Just not too loose, because this is a family-friendly event.

As Marda Loop’s largest and longest-running event, Calgary’s answer to Mardi Gras is attended by many and beloved by all – but this year will be even bigger and better than ever!

“This will be our first full-scale Marda Gras after two long years of Covid-19 and we expect to welcome thousands of visitors from all over the city,” said Bob van Wegen, Executive Director of the Marda Loop BIA in a press release.

“This will be Marda Loop’s most eventful summer ever, and we can’t wait for it to start.”

From costumes and decorations, Calgarians are encouraged to be bold, be colourful and enjoy fun and community spirit in the sun.

In addition, attendees can check out live entertainment at one of their four ‘performance corners,’ will be able to grab a bite to eat at a food truck, shop their vendors – or check out the pet pageant (arguably the best part of the event.)

Open to all, this adorable show is put on every year in support of a local animal charity, with all proceeds from registration going to organizations that support our furry counterparts in need.
