Road trips to the beach don’t get better than this! Ontario’s Nickel Beach gives visitors the rare opportunity to park right on the sand, so you can take your beach day setup to the next level.

Located on Lake Erie in Port Colborne, this sprawling white sand beach also has tons of nearby trails to explore and amenities including shady picnic areas and volleyball courts.

It’s said to be one of the few remaining destinations that offers parking right on the beachfront.

You’re welcome to pack a personal BBQ, a picnic cooler full of snacks and beverages for a mini tailgate party, as long as you keep it non-alcoholic.

A maximum of 200 vehicles for non-Port Colborne residents are permitted to park on the beach each day, and you can get your parking pass in advance online.

Also at the beach is the SplashTown Niagara Inflatable Waterpark, which you can buy a separate pass for.

There are so many gorgeous sandy beaches to visit in Ontario, but this one is definitely unique.

The beach is open on weekdays, weekends and holidays, so if you’re hoping to lay out in the sand this summer, this must be the place.
