Seattle has plenty of prime waterfront real estate but it doesn’t get much closer to the water than actually living on it in a houseboat. That’s why today we’re looking at a home that’s less grand on scale, but certainly unique in its floating location. Let’s check out a prime Lake Union houseboat.

This green and bright little houseboat is named Pacena and is a classic houseboat grandfathered into Seattle’s Lake Union. It’s conveniently located along the Burke Gilman Trail between the University of Washington and Fremont. That means, not only will you have the water just outside your door, but you’ll also have back door access to Seattle’s best multi use trail.

Because this is a house boat, it’s not going to have the square footage of other homes on the market. That being said, Pacena has everything you need, a bathroom, a kitchen, bedroom and even an extra sleeping loft all tucked into 600 square feet. If you ask us, it kind of sounds like the perfect set up for a minimalist.

What sets Pacena apart from other houseboats of similar sizes is its wood panelled wall and ceiling accents and hardwood floors. They add an extra nautical vibe to the interior and also a bit of heritage flair. What’s more, Pacena was hauled out in December for a bottom cleaning and repaint job on both the exterior and roof. So for $350k it’s pretty much all ready to go.
