‘Tis (almost) the season for festive fun and with all the events we have to look forward to, this year promises to have more holiday cheer than ever. Toronto’s biggest walkthrough holiday market and festival opens its doors this November and it’s a Christmas fairytale come to life.

The Polar Winter Festival is a massive event coming to Bandshell Park this holiday season. Not only is it a vendor market with all kinds of treats and gifts to shop for, but it’s also an immersive walkthrough experience with larger-than-life displays, an amusement park with rides, and a destination for all things festive. Last year’s event was a drive-through but this year, you’ll be able to explore the whole thing on foot.

Described as “bigger and better than any other winter festival in the GTA,” we’re definitely in for a real treat. You could spend hours trying everything this event has to offer, including selfies with Santa in his living room, Christmas train rides, a breathtaking Polar Ice Tunnel of lights, and more.

This event is fun for people of all ages too. If you want to add a boozy element to your festival experience, you can hit up the X-Lounge, a cozy cocktail lounge with holiday-themed drinks and fire pits to keep you toasty all night long.

This outdoor setup is open nightly until 11 p.m. during the festival. If you’re hungry, the lounge also serves up burgers, BeaverTails and other holiday eats.

Your ticket comes with a timed entry so you have a dedicated window to enjoy the festival. While it is possible to buy your ticket at the door, it’s recommended that you order it in advance to guarantee your spot. The event is totally cashless, so have your debit or credit card on hand.

Most people visit this festival for around 1.5 hours on average, so if you’re still in the mood for holiday cheer by the time you leave, you could head right across the street to the drive-through Snow Magical festival at Ontario Place.

It is shaping up to be a holly jolly Christmas season in the 6ix and we can’t wait for it to begin!
