These Ontario caves and caverns were naturally carved millions of years ago by glacial ice

Brace yourselves, friends — we’re about to descend into ancient history! Scenic Caves Nature Adventures in Ontario is a fascinating labyrinth of ancient caverns just two hours outside of Toronto, and it’s a perfect outing to add to your fall bucket list!
The Caves & Caverns await
Besides being immersed in a historical part of our province, you’ll get to venture 70 feet below the surface into a giant crevasse.
There you’ll find seventeen unique geological features that were naturally carved by glacial ice millions of years ago!
“Once home to the Petun First Nations people and currently situated within one of Canada’s 18 UNESCO sites, the rich landscape has much to offer,” says a description of the site.
“The rewards are plentiful with multiple panoramic vistas of Georgian Bay along limestone cliff edges.”

What you need to know about this cave adventure
You’ll be traversing this rocky landscape all on your own, so hiking or running shoes are mandatory. It’s an adventure that’s suitable for visitors of all ages, but be mindful that some areas have steep ground, uneven trails, and natural obstacles.
These are self-guided trails, but they are clearly marked, and you should give yourself around two hours to get the most out of your experience.
What else to do at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures?
These caves are situated within a large nature park with so many activities to do all year round, including gemstone mining, a suspension bridge, mini golf, and trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
“Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, adventure lies in the heart of nature at the top of the Niagara Escarpment. We’re home to a centuries old series of caves and caverns, carved by glacial ice, Southern Ontario’s longest suspension footbridge, offering 15 kilometers of trails meandering through 370 unspoiled acres of natural beauty,” states the Adventure Park.
“Experience the unique views of the 200 year old forest, with well-marked trails offering gentle rolling slopes to steep climbs, and expansive, world class views!”
If you plan to visit soon, know that access to the Caves & Caverns comes included with your general park admission rate and is available during regular hours of operation.
Enjoy the adventures!
