Alberta-shot film gets North American premiere at TIFF this week after praise in Venice

If you want to make a movie worth raving about, Wild Rose Country is the place! Take, for example, Alberta-shot film The Order, which premieres in North America this week at the Toronto International Film Festival in Ontario.
Based on the non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt, the project stars Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Nicholas Hoult (The Menu), Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Dark Phoenix), and Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey)—but they had plenty of local help!
The film, which follows an FBI agent struggling to prove a group of radicals are the ones behind a string of Idaho-based robberies and thefts, had a large crew, which included a ton Alberta-based talent.

According to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) the crime-thriller received a 9-minute and 23-second standing ovation following its world premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival.
Amazing, right?
Until then, we’ll be waiting, but keep your eyes peeled!
Those familiar with Calgary, Drumheller, and their surrounding areas might see something or someone familiar and that will be half of the fun.
