This spot has everything you’ll need to enjoy your day including washroom facilities, parking, a large sandy area along the water, park amenities and lifeguards on duty.
During the months of July and August, lifeguards are at the beach daily from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Once you’ve set up for the day along the water you’ll notice that Spruce Beach faces the charming Sylvah Island, a small forested area just one kilometre from the shore.
The beach is best known for the rock protruding from the water, which visitors love to swim out to, climb and jump off.
According to Destination Ontario, “The water in Elliot Lake is crystal clear, The white sand is the perfect fodder for sandcastles or volleyball courts.”
The waters are among the best in the province in fact, with the beach receiving Blue Fag status for meeting exceptional standards of water quality.
If you want to add a little more adventure to your day, There are a handful of provincial parks within driving distance, including Matinenda and Little White River Provincial Park.
