Between now and September 1st, 2024, eagle-eyed stargazers could see the Perseid Meteor Shower, which is known for its “long wakes of light and colour.”

Jasper Dark Sky Preserve

In Western Alberta? The Jasper Dark Sky Preserve is the second-largest preserve in the world.

What’s more, it’s one of the most beautiful places in Canada!

Cypress Hills Provincial Park

Alberta’s very first preserve! Cypress Hills is located near both the Saskatchewan and United States borders.

Thanks to its high elevation and lack of urban pollution, this is another incredible place to see the stars.

Described as “an exquisite spot to view the wonders of the night sky,” Beaver Hills has minimal light pollution and helps to protect local wildlife.

Waterton International Dark Sky Park

Located in Southern Alberta, the Waterton International Dark Sky Park makes up one-half of the world’s first cross-border preserves.

The biggest dark sky preserve in the world, Wood Buffalo Park is totally worth visiting if you’re looking for something spectacular.

You can even rent a cabin on Pine Lake and stay the night! You’re in for a treat!
