Alberta has some incredible businesses, but few of them are Remy-certified!
Known best for his voice work in Disney’s Ratatouille, as well as his role in King of Queens, Parks and Recreation and Young Adult, beloved Actor, comedian and writer, Patton Oswalt was recently in Calgary where he found “a little slice of heaven.”
“The mighty @globecinema_yyc — my @newbeverly away from home,” he gushed on social media.
“It’s dingy, it’s gloomy — it’s PERFECT.”
Located on 8th Avenue downtown, the Globe opened in 1995 as an indie entertainment hub with two auditoriums that seat around 378 people each.

Here, entertainment seekers can catch film study favourites and experimental arthouse films in the inner city, with friends, family, or their special someone.
“Non-stop new, fringe, and classic cult cinema. Lumpy seats, mostly empty auditoriums on a Saturday afternoon,” he continued.
