Out of the millions of luxury hotels in the world, narrowing it down to just 100 is a difficult task. And even managing to score a spot on the list is a great accomplishment. That being said, a new list is out for 2023 of the 100 best new hotels in the world, and only one Canadian spot made the list.
Hint: It’s in Toronto.
Travel and Leisure has revealed this year’s ‘It List’, an annual ranking that now, for the first time, has been divided into seven categories – affordable luxury, best new wellness getaways, beach vacations, and more.

The list includes hotels in countries like Zambia, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Greece, St. Barts, and Italy. Seeing that only one Canadian hotel made the list, out of the many notable, highly recognized establishments across the globe, that’s a huge win.
Now let’s get to the point, the only Canadian hotel to make the list is none other than the Ace Hotel Toronto.

Placed in 25th out of 100, Ace Hotel is recognized for its amenities, restaurant offerings, and overall chill ambiance where people can stop by and work in the day and enjoy an evening out later in the day.
Home to the all-season rooftop bar and lounge Evangeline, Alder, helmed by Chef Patrick Kriss of Alo and Alobar, and The Lobby, a low-key spot for a delicious cocktail – there’s no surprise here why Ace Hotel Toronto made the list.
But this isn’t the first time a Toronto hotel was recognized on a global scale. Ranked alongside stays in Costa Rica, Greece, Switzerland, and the Maldvies, The Hazelton Hotel in Toronto was named in Tripadvisor’s “Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destination Awards.”
All of that being said, there’s no doubt that Toronto is home to some of the best hotels and stays in the world – and here’s proof of that.
