When you think of Toronto, you most likely picture a busy nightlife, a multicultural food scene, and world-known attractions like the CN Tower. But it looks like our beloved city has been recognized for one of its most popular summertime Caribbean festivals.

U.S News & World Report compiled a list of 10 Caribbean festivals worth traveling for in 2023.

Among the list are big events like the St. Kitts Music Festival in St. Kitts & Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago, and Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica. But it looks like the Toronto Caribbean Carnival also received a nod.

According to the list, this is an event that you don’t want to miss out on. And for those in Toronto who have travelled to the city to experience Caribana in the summer, then you know that’s a fact.

The event is typically held in the month of July and ends with a massive parade that takes over Lakeshore Boulevard. Millions of people attend the event every year and just this past summer, it celebrated its 55th anniversary of the Grande Parade.

Well, it sounds like you don’t have to travel down to the islands to get a little taste of the Caribbean heat.
