Get excited, Toronto. A four-day celebration of skateboarding, food, art, and music called House of Vans is coming to our city this week.

This “one-of-a-kind experience” is free to attend and will have all kinds of exhibitions, showcases, and workshops to participate in.

House of Vans kicks off on Thursday, November 17th, and runs until Sunday, November 20th.

Visitors can participate in an Open Skate session at Toronto’s pop-up skate park — helmets, pads, and skateboards provided!

The four-day celebration will take place at the historic The Great Hall in Toronto’s west end, along with an off-site skate event at an abandoned TTC subway station.

You can attend workshops like shoe customization, tie-dying and screenprinting, and cookie decorating.

A queer-focused skateboarding session will be led by Queen Skate Toronto, to create a safe and inclusive space for queer-identifying people to enjoy and get introduced to skateboarding.

There’s also a food market with coffee and delicious bites, as well as a community market with vendors ranging from skateboard accessories and apparel to tattoos and vintage.

Plus, a free waffle breakfast will be provided by Vans on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Music and art enthusiasts will have a range of free concerts to attend, including a hardcore show on Friday night and live music on Saturday night (RSVP required) plus film screenings and exhibits by local artists.

Whether you’re all about skateboarding culture or simply want to immerse yourself in the energy, you and all your pals are invited.
