Take part in National Takeout Day

Vancouver might have expensive rent, but our takeout scene has always been very reasonable. If you’re treating yourself this week, keep in mind that there’s a nationwide effort to set the record on Thursday. All you gotta do is fill out a few questions and bam! You’re part of it.

Need some outfit inspo for this summer? You should know that the Vancouver Fashion Week returns this Friday! This year, they’ve got designers showing virtual collections from all over the world, so you’re bound to see something that you like.

Or a new movie about a Canadian dance company

If you want to double down on culture at home this week, you could also check out the upcoming Canadian premiere of More Than Dance, We Are a Movement. The film follows the Red Sky Performance group as they perform two amazing dances called Trace and Miigs.

Treat yourself to brunch

Check out some public art

The newest public art piece in Vancouver is a multimedia installation that’s part of the Vancouver Art Gallery. It’s hard to sum up, but think of it as a collaborative event to try and map, in a few different ways, the social changes and events that have shaped our city over the years.

Try a new cafe and bar

And while you’re downtown, why not try out the city’s newest all-day spot? Maxine’s is the newest sibling restaurant to the Homer Street Cafe and Tableau Bar Bistro, so we’re expecting nothing short of excellence here. And, we know that we’re going to get it!
