Hello, Edmonton! We hope that you’ve been enjoying the long weekend, and are just a little more energized for the week ahead. We’re here to help you have some fun, even if the forecast doesn’t look amazing at the moment. Hey, no problem, since we’ve got both inside and outside options lined up for you.

Here are 10 things to do in Edmonton this week.

ENJOY SOME NEW INSTALLATIONS DOWNTOWN

All three of Edmonton’s newest public art installations have now arrived! Located at the Winspear Centre, the Citadel Theatre, and the Art Gallery of Alberta, these installations will showcase what the institutions can’t wait to bring back to Edmonton.

CHECK OUT THE 124 GRAND MARKET

The 124 Grand Market has returned for the summer! And while we might not have the best weather this week, we think that’s all the more reason to go check out the dozens of local producers and makers located here. Plus, you’ll have some great groceries for your next attempt at becoming a home chef.

WATCH AN OILERS GAME

Well folks, things are coming down to the wire! The Oilers are facing off against the Winnipeg Jets in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and we’re hoping they’ve got what it takes to come out on top. Fingers crossed!

GET A LIBRARY CARD

You know what they say- having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card! Cozy up on the couch and treat yourself to a world of adventure. Plus, books have this weird effect where you feel productive afterwards, in a way that Netflix just can’t compare. Maybe that’s just us, though.

ENJOY A PLAY

Missing watching live shows at the Citadel Theatre? While you wait for their return, you can still support them by streaming a show or two from their virtual options. And like reading a book, we always feel just a little bit better after supporting (clears throat) the local theatre.

EXPERIENCE THE ROYAL ALBERTA MUSEUM FROM HOME

While it waits to reopen, the Royal Alberta Museum offers a wide variety of educational options that you can access online. Explore the collections on virtual tours, learn to build a banjo (awesome), or take some custom-made quizzes to learn more about the museum.

GO FOR AN OUTDOOR WORKOUT

From yoga in the park to running trails and more, we’ve got you covered from all angles. Plus, May is like the perfect month for outdoor activities- not too hot, and not too cold (mostly). Plus, we might be crazy, but we actually enjoy working out when it’s raining a little bit.

FIRE UP THE BBQ

If there is some weather, then a little springtime BBQ is never a bad idea, and we found out about an amazing bonus for it this week. Turns out, the local brand Motley Que just won the prestigious title of the Best BBQ Sauce on the Planet. Their ‘Sticky Fixx’ sauce went up against over 360 different kinds, and was the only one to receive a perfect score! Quick, go buy a bottle before more people find out!
