Welcome to the end of the weekend, folks! Luckily, the fun doesn’t have to stop just because the weekend did, and especially since Edmonton’s forecast is looking pretty nice this week. Whether you’re itching to enjoy spring, or biding your energy, we’ve got some great options.

Here are 10 things to do this week in Edmonton.

ENJOY THE BATTLES OF ALBERTA

The Oilers face off against the Flames not once, but twice this week. Who will come out ahead? The Oilers have proven themselves as a contender this year, but the Flames have a grittier gameplan with new head coach Darryl Sutter. Our money’s on the former.

When: Monday, March 15th and Wednesday, March 17th

SCARE SOME COYOTES

With proper training, of course. The University of Alberta is looking for volunteers to help with a study of ‘adverse conditioning’ for urban coyotes in Edmonton. The best part? Some lucky individuals will be given an umbrella with the face of a wolf on it to scare ’em.

TRY A CRAZY NEW PIZZA

It’s not often that we recommend major brands and corporations in our things to-do list, but this is an exception. For a limited time, Pizza Hut is offering a pizza topped with KFC popcorn chicken, gravy, cheese, and corn. It’s insane and worth at least one try,

GRAB SOME GROCERIES

One great part about early spring? Amazing sunsets and wide-open skies. Make the most of it with a trip to Elk Island National Park- do a little exploring in the afternoon, then head back to your car for some hot cocoa and a quick peek at the stars above.

ZOOM AROUND ON SOME GO-KARTS

While you can’t pubstomp some 12-year-olds, we think that a trip to the new DRIVE Go-Kart track in West Ed is a solid idea. You can book the entire thing for a heavily discounted price, but, the catch is that everyone needs to be from the same household. Good idea for families or those with multiple roommates.

GO ON A MINI ROAD TRIP

Without a doubt, Edmonton wipes the floor with Calgary when it comes to nearby roadside attractions. If you’re looking to go for a Sunday morning cruise, then maybe swing by some of the craziest ones in the province. Sure, everyone knows about the Giant Perogy, but what about a Giant Bee?

Here’s another food festival to check out this month. This one, however, has some heartier options. The participating restaurants are offering meal deals priced at $15-$25. The list and menus are definitely worth checking out if you’re craving something new next month.
