Well Vancouver, this was the craziest week we’ve seen in a long, long time. So, while this weekend’s forecast is looking surprisingly tame, we’re also including a couple of options looking for those who want to help out with the relief efforts, or simply do some good in their community. And of course, there are our classic picks, since the holiday season is almost in full swing.

Here are 10 of the best things to do in Vancouver this weekend.

Check out some fundraisers related to the BC storm

Wanting to help out those affected this week? A variety of verified fundraisers have been created with exactly that in mind. Help individual families, support animal shelters, or even pitch in to help out entire communities.

Dine Strathcona

This local food festival has returned for another instalment! Not only is this is a great way to enjoy some of the best spots in the city, but $5 from each specialty meal/offering will go towards the HAVE Culinary Training Society, which helps disadvantaged members of the community learn about, and find a job in, the tourism and hospitality industry.

When: Now until November 30th

Watch some crazy climbing movies

The Rio Theatre is hosting a showing of not one, but four climbing films as part of the ongoing Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. What’s more, the event will feature a presentation from Alannah Yip, who competed in climbing events at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this summer.
