THE weekend we’ve all been waiting for is finally here, folks! It’s been a long time coming, but Ontario is heading into Step 3 of reopening and that means we have a heck of a lot of things to do. From indoor dining and hitting the gym, to all the other amazing things in Toronto that are back in action this weekend, we’ve got a nice list of the top picks.

Whether you’re dining indoors at your favourite restaurant, finally getting a pump on at the gym, or hanging out with some friends you haven’t seen in a long time, the possibilities are endless this weekend. HOME APPLIANCES FOOD CO. COMEDY SHOW

For two nights in a row, you’ll be able to hit the Home Appliances Food Co. Truck Lot at Yonge and Roselawn to grab some laughs, food, and good vibes. Each ticket comes with one combo meal which includes either a burger or fried chicken sandwich, fries, and a non-alcoholic beverage. If you’re with a group of up to 6, you can snag patio admission for a picnic table, but if it’s just you by your lonesome or with one other person, snag a lawn admission for chair seating.

When: Friday, July 16 & Saturday, July 17 from 9 pm – 10:30 pm *Doors open at 8 pm*

WATCH SOME DRIVE-IN CONCERTS

Speaking of drive-ins, you can also catch a concert or two this summer at CityView Drive-In. All July, they’ve got awesome programming in store. Some of the highlights include The Summer House Party Tailgate, the Drive ‘N Queens Summer Series, and the Horseshoe Chill-O-Rama.

HIT UP TORONTO’S NEW PIZZA GARDEN

Toronto Just Got a New Wood-Burning Pizza & Beer Garden Pop-Up minutes from Woodbine beach! LAVAZZA DRIVE-IN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Celebrate Canada’s multicultural cinema at the Lavazza Drive-In International Film Festival this July. The event has a ton of great screenings lined up all month, with a special “Focus Italian” series as well. It’s sure to be the best place to catch titles from across the globe, including works from American, British, Korean, Latinx, African, Chinese, French, Jewish, Japanese, Turkish, Indian, Iranian, Indigenous Peoples, and Russian communities.

THE SMOOTH PUTT

Another event that’s sure to become a Toronto favourite is The Smooth Putt pop-up hitting the Harbourfront starting this Friday. Swing by (pun intended) for boozy mini-golf next to the water. Each ticket comes with a 9-hole round and a personalized GREY GOOSE® VODKA Soda cocktail. We’ll certainly cheers to that!

GO TO A MOVIE

Cineplex was chomping at the bit, since they were the first to announce the return of movie theatres! The chain will be reopening all of its locations around the province this Friday. And, we have to admit, we want to check out the new A24 film Zola, which is based on an infamous Twitter thread from 2015. Plus, don’t forget about Toronto’s independent theatres, which could use your support more than ever.

GET A FREE WAXING DONE

Now, we’re not going to pretend that this isn’t a little bit odd, but Bud Light, in collaboration with the local Aroma Waxing Clinic, will be offering Toronto’s furry elite FREE hair removal services (from any body part of your choosing) in order to celebrate a #smoothsummer. Yep, we’re serious.
