Ah, another weekend come and gone… But we so much stuff to do around Edmonton, we’re not too upset about its passing. Instead, we’re looking ahead for all the great options for these next few days, from sports to concerts to some food and drink options!

Here are the 10 best things to do in Edmonton this week.

ROYAL ALBERTA MUSEUM

In addition to the permanent collections, you’re running out of time to see Abandoned Alberta- a series of interesting (and a little haunting) photographs documenting the province’s forgotten buildings. That wraps up on March 13th, so get down there!

When: Open Wednesday to Sunday
Where: 9810 103a Avenue NW
Cost: Varies

TELUS WORLD OF SCIENCE

There’s always something fun going on at the Telus World of Science, but we’ve got two things in mind here. First, their IMAX theatre is a great way to experience a classic movie, a new blockbuster, or a stunning documentary. Second, the Zeidler Dome has laser shows that are, frankly, out of this world.

When: Open Wednesday to Sunday
Where: 11211 142 Street NW
Cost: Varies

MANA OHANA RUN

SYC Brewing and Anti Social Running Club have teamed up for this virtual run! Choose from a 10K, half marathon, or a full marathon, then celebrate afterwards with your choice of special edition beer and a t-shirt!

When: Starts Friday, March 11th
Where: All around Edmonton
Cost: $55

EDMONTON OILERS

The Oilers face off against Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Washington Capitals. A former flame still burning bright vs. the biggest young buck in the league? Now that’s a superstar matchup!

When: Wednesday, March 9th
Where: 10220 104 Avenue NW
Cost: $55+

TURNING RED

We’re pretty big Pixar fans here at Curiocity, and we don’t care who knows it. So, the release of Turning Red, which just so happens to be set in Toronto in the early 2000s, is something we’re absolutely recommending you check out this week.

When: Premieres Friday, March 11th
Where: Streaming on Disney+

HOP IN A GO KART

For those looking for a little more of a thrill this week, you might want to check out Drive! at West Edmonton Mall. As North America’s only 3-level indoor track, this high octane (except electric, so maybe voltage?) option will have you begging for one more race time after time.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 8882 170 Street NW
Cost: $29+

LEARN HOW TO THROW AN AXE

And if you’re really wanting to mix things up, we suggest a little axe-throwing session! Head down with that special someone or some friends and toss axes in a way that won’t have your mom calling you in a panic afterward.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 13931 156 Street
Cost: $25+ per person

SKIRTS ON WHYTE

Here’s a must-see festival in the city. Returning to venues around Whyte Ave, this option combines a variety of art with live events like comedy shows, concerts, and more.

When: On throughout the week
Where: Venues around Edmonton
Cost: Varies

PETER PAN GOES WRONG

The Citadel Theatre is back to hosting live shows! This week, you can check out this hilarious play about an acting company trying to put on a production of the classic tale. Naturally, things go awry fast.

When: Showtimes throughout the week
Where: 9828 101 A Avenue
Cost: $30+

THE GRINDSTONE THEATRE

For even more variety, this is our recommendation. Comedy shows, small plays, fun satires… the Grindstone has it all and wants you to come to see for yourself.

When: Shows throughout the week
Where: 10019 81 Avenue
Cost: Varies

That’s what we’ve got in mind this week, Edmonton!
