Ah, the end of the weekend is here once more. But rather than get down about it, we’re choosing to see what we have to look forward to in Edmonton this week! After all, when you’ve got this many options to enjoy, the hardest part is choosing one!

Here are 10 of the best things to do this week in and around Edmonton.

TOGETHER AGAIN CONCERT SERIES

Ready to get a little music back in your life? This is a great option. The Together Again series hosts socially-distant concerts thanks to a table booking system. In addition to regular concerts, there’s also a Comedy Fest and the return of Edmonton Rockfest to look forward

ROSSDALE POWER PLANT TOUR

That’s right folks, tours of the Rossdale Power Plant are back! This is your chance to check out a historic landmark in the city, while learning about its history at the same time! And, we have to admit, it’s stuff like this that we like to see on Instagram, if only for the unique factor.

When: Tours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer
Where: 10155 96 Avenue NW
Cost: $27.30

SEE IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF HEIGHTS

Ready to find your aerial limit? This beloved local attraction is a great way to get outside this summer. And as an extra bonus, two more attractions have opened this year as well- a mining experience, and a target golf area! Pro tip- head down on a Thursday night to save a few bucks on admission.

Where: 13204 Rainbow Valley Road NW

TOGETHER WE FRINGE

IMAGINE VAN GOGH

Originally from Europe, this exhibition showcases the artist’s best works on a larger-than-life scale, using high-quality projectors and audio for a more immersive experience. If you’re looking for a fun blend of art and technology, then this is a great time.

GO FOR ICE CREAM

It’s a simple pick, but an essential one. Edmonton is home to some delicious spots for ice cream, and even has more than a few vegan options mixed in there! Time your trip with a hot summer day, and bask in the glory of a frozen treat to cool off.

HEAD TO THE ART GALLERY

There’s no question that the Art Gallery of Alberta is a rainy day must, but it also works when it’s super hot out. Head down to enjoy their amazing permanent and temporary exhibitions, and bask in a lovely climate-controlled building as an extra bonus!

WATCH A LASER SHOW

For a little bit different experience, we can’t recommend laser shows at Telus World of Science’s Zeidler Dome enough. This state-of-the-art theatre is one of the few places across Canada to still offer shows set to the likes of Pink Floyd and Daft Punk. Way better than sitting around a record player, that’s for sure.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 11211 142 Street NW
Cost: Included with admission

SEE WHAT’S NEW AT THE ZOO

What’s new at the zoo? Well, you’ll have to see for yourself! All of their exhibits are now open, which means you get to enjoy some fun in the sun before cooling off in like the reptile house or something. Either way, it’s a great option for an afternoon adventure!

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 13315 Buena Vista Road

That’s what we’ve got in mind this week, Edmonton!
