Let’s say you don’t have to work for a couple of days this week. First off- you lucky duck. Second, a brand new attraction opens on Vancouver Island this Thursday! The Malahat SkyWalk is a crazy lookout point and nature walk that offers stunning 360° views of the surrounding area.

Ready to take a break from summer? Well, it’s hard to beat a trip to the movies! This week, we’re recommending the Rio Theatre, which is showing everything from cult favourites (La Haine) to recently released options (Promising Young Woman). Craving some live entertainment/art instead? You’ll be happy to know that the Dancing on the Edge Festival is back! Throughout the week, you can check out live performances highlighting some incredible dancers and groups. It is one of Canada’s premier contemporary dance festivals, so we’re confident that it’ll be fun.

Check out Wings and Wizards

This new experience in the city is both immersive and interactive. Set up at BC Place, Wings and Wizards lets you use a ‘magic wand’ to cast spells, complete tasks, and solve puzzles as you work your way through a magical world.

Visit a U-Pick Farm

Or a Lavender Farm

Not really into picking berries? No problem, because a couple of lavender farms around the city are currently in full bloom! This week we’re recommending the aptly named Full Bloom Lavender Farm, which is family run and located out in Langley.

Check out the Rec Room

After months of waiting, the first Rec Room located in BC has opened! This unique arcade and entertainment concept offers dozens of games to explore, ranging from classics like Pong to state-of-the-art driving simulators to pool tables. Plus, a new ‘adults-only’ Cineplex VIP Cinemas has opened in the same space!
