Now that the weather is finally getting warmer, we’re spending as much time as possible outdoors. If you’ve got a furry friend in need of a little exercise, why not hit up one of the many dog parks throughout Toronto? These spots are perfect for your pooch, so keep them in mind when your furry friend needs a stroll.
Here are 10 of the best dog parks in Toronto.
In a park this massive, it’s no surprise there’s a gorgeous area dedicated to pups. The off-leash section of High Park is fabulous for getting out and stretching those legs. The open area has tons of trails and pathways to explore.
Where: 1873 Bloor St W
Your pup can wade in the water at this next outdoor selection. Hit up Cherry Beach to enjoy tons of room for running and splashing around. This one’s perfect for when the weather gets even warmer.
Where: 1 Cherry St
If you’re in North York, be sure to bring your pup to the famous Sunnybrook Park. This massive outdoor area has an off-leash section, plenty of room for walks, plus bike trails, ravines, and more. We recommend packing a picnic and spending an afternoon.
Where: 1132 Leslie St
We can’t talk about dog parks without mentioned Trinity Bellwoods’ famous bowl. All the coolest pups in town hang out at this Queen St location. No matter the season, this spot is a must-hit.
Where: 790 Queen St W
Located in the heart of Rosedale, this next spot is one you won’t want to miss. The beautiful park is nestled right into a crevice of the downtown core. But once you’re in, you’d hardly believe you’re in a city. There’s plenty of green space to roam around. Plus, of course, a section specifically for your dog.
Where: 1020 Yonge St
This next pick may be small, but it’s still worth the trip. Hidden away in Toronto’s East York neighbourhood, this spot has a dog’s off-leash area, a wading pool, and an outdoor playground. If you have pups and little ones hanging around, this is the spot to hit.
Where: 23 Audley Ave
So you can’t bring your pup into the inside part of this Toronto attraction, but the outdoor off-leash area is still pretty bomb. The fenced-in section is great for letting your pooch roam free. Plus, you really can’t beat the location right in the heart of Toronto’s action.
Where: 160 Gerrard St E
HUMBER BAY PARK
Folks in Etobicoke can enjoy all that this next spot offers. The massive Humber Bay Park has tons of trails and pathways to hike. Plus, of course, areas specifically dedicated to your dog. This one’s another great pick for when summer hits, because of its close proximity to the water.
Where: 2225 Lakeshore Blvd W
RIVERDALE PARK WEST
The lesser-known of the Riverdale Parks is great for getting out with your pup. No, this isn’t the spot with the amazing hill and skyline views. BUT, it’s still got plenty of perks of its own. Let your dog off its leash or hit up the nearby Riverdale Farm to see what the hype is about.
Where: 375 Sumach St
We can’t talk dog parks without mentioning Berczy Park. Although this pick is the only one on our list where you can’t actually let your dog roam free, it is still worth a visit. You can check out the iconic dog fountain and surrounding restos at your next trip here.
Where: 35 Wellington St E
So grab your pup and check out these amazing dog parks today! There’s no better way to enjoy the warm-ish weather.
