An absolutely classic option, the Jasper SkyTram offers guests to see absolutely stunning panoramic views from over 2,200 metres above sea level. On the way up, you’ll be educated on the history of Jasper and the surrounding area. Then, once you’re at the top, the Summit Trail is like a cheat code for the best mountain trails in the region.

BANFF GONDOLA

Speaking of amazing panoramic views, the trip up Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola. Here, you can expect views of 6 different mountain ranges, the Bow Valley, and of course the town below. And, just like the Jasper SkyTram, there’s a trail at the summit so you’re able to take it all in.

LAKE MINNEWANKA CRUISE

Guess what folks, this amazing sightseeing cruise on Lake Minnewanka returns this month! And at just an hour long, you don’t have to worry about being stuck on a boat for the entire day. It’s the perfect mix of getting outdoors and convenience, which we’re always about.

JASPER WILDLIFE TOURS

Maybe a wildlife tour is more your speed than a sightseeing one. Well, the rugged terrain in Jasper National Park is one of the best places in the province to go looking! This evening wildlife tour is in a vehicle, and is guided by a local expert who plans each route based on seasonal wildlife movements. We guess it works- they’ve got a 95% success rate!

COLUMBIA ICEFIELD SKYWALK

The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a triple threat of fun. The floating, see-through platform is sure to raise the heart rate of even the most seasoned adventures, the elevated provides stunning vistas of the valley and icefield, and chances are high you’ll spot a little wildlife during your visit!

JASPER PLANETARIUM TELESCOPE EXPERIENCE

Like the cave tour, the Jasper Planetarium is for those looking for a more unique experience in the Rockies. During your visit, you’ll get an interactive, guided tour of the most powerful telescopes in the North American (not just Canadian!) Rockies. Then, if the skies are clear, check out stunning views of the night sky in real-time, courtesy of 4K monitors depicting what the telescopes are seeing.

KANANASKIS COUNTRY GOLF COURSE

Of course, we couldn’t finish this list without mentioning our own favourite summer mountain activity- golfing. There are a wide variety of courses all along the Rockies, but in the south, it’s hard to beat the value of the Kananaskis Country Golf Course. With 36 holes to play, this is one that has Albertans coming back year after year (and the resident bonus doesn’t hurt, either).

FAIRMONT JASPER PARK LODGE GOLF COURSE

If you noticed, we tried to balance things out between the north and south areas in the province. So, we think the fitting golf pick here is to treat yourself and try Jasper. The intimating course is frequently ranked amongst the best in the world, and comes with the price tag to match. For the avid golfer though, this is a bucket list name,
