There are over 18,000 properties listed on the site, which you can filter based on your preferences similar to booking sites like Airbnb. You can connect and chat with users before you swap, to build trust that your home is in good hands.

In Canada, you’ll find all kinds of stunning properties to choose from, like a designer loft with views of downtown Toronto and a “lakefront hobbit palace” in Masons Landing. You can also stay in unique homes in faraway places like Australia, Italy, South Africa, France and so many more.

The service works in two ways. There’s the Classic Swap, which lets you stay at someone else’s place, and in return, they get to stay at yours — simple as that. Once you find a person who’s interested, you can stay at each other’s homes either at the same time or at different times.

There’s also the Points Swap, which is the website’s form of travel currency. It allows you to book your stay at someone else’s home in exchange for points, which you can use towards your next trip. A transaction fee is applied based on the number of nights.

The site also provides tips and resources for keeping your belongings safe, trading keys, how to prepare and ensure that your place is left clean.
