As Canada (and the rest of the world for that matter) starts to reopen, there’s no denying the return of some wanderlust, either at home or abroad. And, Google Canada has unveiled the top places that Canadians want to travel to. After all, we might not be able to go everywhere just yet, but dang if it’s not easy to research our wishlist!

First up are the domestic destinations in Canada that people searched about. Unsurprisingly, Toronto and Vancouver took the 1st and 2nd spots. But, we were a little surprised to see that Calgary came in 3rd, beating out Montreal. Maybe the Calgary Stampede had people thinking ‘yee-haw’.

  2. Vancouver
  3. Calgary
  4. Montreal
  5. Niagara Falls
  6. Edmonton

Meanwhile, the international searches featured a pretty diverse list of countries. The classics like Italy and France are on there, but so was Dubai, Japan and Cuba. We must admit, we’re a little confused that none of the Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam or Thailand were on there.

  1. Italy
  2. United States
  3. Mexico
  4. India
  5. France
  6. Dubai
  7. Greece
  8. Japan
  9. United Kingdom
  10. Cuba

What do you think, folks? Are these your top picks for summer travel destinations? We’ll be honest and say no- we want a break from this heat, maybe it’s time for a trip to like Sweden or Norway. They’re cooler, right?
