There’s nothing quite like a good horror movie this time of year. All those dark color schemes, soundtracks, and scenes really help us get in the mood for spooky season. But did you know that Seattle’s MoPOP has an exhibition that celebrates all things horror year-round?
Yep, horror fans this one is for you. MoPOP’s Scared to Death: The Thrill of Horror Film is a permanent exhibition and is included in your ticket each time you visit. That means there’s no need to pay extra to see more than 50 props and costumes from your film and television horror favorites.

The real-life Halloweentown is just three hours from Seattle and you can visit it
Expect to see items from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Bride of Frankenstein, Dawn of the Dead, Hostel, Jeepers Creepers, and Pet Sematary, among others.
While seeing the objects is cool, the exhibit is just about as cinematic as the films themselves. Try your best to survive a vampire’s lair dripping with blood and try not to scream when you see suspended corpses framing a killer’s den.
If you do make it through all that you’ll also be able to see extensive exhibit films, oral history interviews with the genre’s top directors, and also some interactive photo ops.
Now is the time to check it out, plus it might just give you some Halloween costume inspo.
When: Thursday to Tuesday, from 10 AM-5 PM
Where: 325 5th Avenue N
Cost: $31+
