You can rip down the mountain at up to 40km/h at this brand new Metro Van attraction

Gotta go fast! And by ‘fast’ we mean 40 kilometers per hour and by ‘go’ we mean go down Cypress Mountain on the Eagle Coaster. Oh and by ‘gotta’ we mean, uh, ‘gotta.’

The Eagle Coaster is a downhill rail coaster that is now open at Cypress Mountain Resort. If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s basically what it sounds like — a single-person roller coaster that zips you down Black Mountain. The track is 1.7 kilometers long and brings you down a total of 279 vertical meters. Sound like fun yet? If you don’t have the need for speed, you can control how fast you go. Perfect if you just want to enjoy the scenery or you’re riding with a young child.

Watching the promotional video, it looks incredibly fun. And, if it’s anything like the one we rode in Revelstoke, it’s going to be as fun and exhilarating as heck.

However, if you want more bang for your buck, 2 rides cost you $49.99. That price also goes down for kids, but anyone under 8 years old needs an adult to ride with them.
