You can climb 6000 steps at this iconic Vancouver landmark to raise money for charity

Vancouverites are known for their love of an active lifestyle and the city’s surrounding natural landscapes, so what better way to combine these passions than by raising money for an admirable cause? Imagine this: you, conquering the stairs of one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, all in the name of charity.

The WWF Climb for Nature is making its West Coast debut at BC Place this spring. This annual charity event, hosted on the steps of Toronto’s CN Tower, has traveled across the country this year to bring even more people together in support of conservation.

On Sunday, May 26th, 2024, participants will climb the many steps of BC Place either with a team or flying solo, all in support of WWF and their efforts to reverse wildlife loss and fight the climate crisis.

This fun-for-all-ages event provides an exciting opportunity for Vancouverites to show their support for the cause and challenge themselves while trying something new.

In case you’re not familiar with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), it is Canada’s largest international conservation organization and is dedicated to restoring and protecting habitats for at-risk species in BC and throughout Canada.

And when you participate in the stair climb for a cause this spring, you’ll be doing so in support of WWF and its efforts to recover wildlife, restore natural habitats and fight climate change.

All funds raised at the event will go towards protecting and restoring the crucial habitats of southern resident killer whales, salmon, Vancouver Island marmots and other at-risk wildlife in BC and throughout Canada.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • The Single Bowl Climb (3000 steps up & down)
  • The Double Bowl Climb (6000 steps up and down)

And if you’re busy on May 26th, don’t worry! You can still take part in the WWF Climb for Nature x Anywhere event. Pick when, where and how many steps you’ll climb this spring!

Ready to start climbing? Rally the groupchat, gather the fam, or round up some friends and head to the WWF website below to register.

And here’s an exciting incentive: if you sign up and fundraise $250 before April 15th, 2024, you’ll also be entered to win a trip of a lifetime for two to Costa Rica with G Adventures!
