In a totally nonshocking revelation, Canada is home to some of the world’s wealthiest cities. A new report is out and four of the country’s most populated cities have been mentioned.

Henley & Partners has released its list of the wealthiest cities in the world for 2023, “featuring exclusive data highlighting the world’s wealthiest and fastest growing cities with the most millionaires, centi-millionaires, and billionaires,” per the report.

The data is supplied by a wealth intelligence firm called New World Wealth which has tracked the movements and spending habits of the world’s wealthiest people for almost 10 years.

Over 90 countries were mentioned on the list, and among them, New York City, Tokyo, The Bay Area, London, and Singapore, are in the top five.

As for Canadian cities, the top-ranking, wealthiest location is none other than Toronto – first in Canada and 12th overall.

Toronto saw a 29% increase in millionaires, or high-net-worth individuals (HNWI), those with a net worth of $1 million USD or more, since 2012. Surprised? Not really.

Next up is Vancouver, third is Montreal, and last but never least, Calgary. They are also the cities with the fastest-rising millionaire populations.
