Calgary is known for having some pretty notable sights – but up until this past weekend, ‘the world’s tallest mural,’ was not one of them.

After years of planning, months of anticipation and weeks of hard work, German Graffiti artist, Mirko Reisser has finally completed an impressive piece that stands 310 feet, 9-inches tall, high above the streets of our inner city.

Located on the Eastern wall of Calgary’s First on Tenth building, this geometric giant was created as part of the 2022 BUMP Festival and is now recognized as the tallest mural in the entire world.

Using over 130 litres of paint, 207 litres of base coat and a whopping 543 cans of spray paint, this bad boy is big, bright, historic and represents an exciting artistic future for all Calgarians – so be sure to keep your eye out next time you’re in the area!

Of course, this is only one of the many giant artworks that you’ll see being panted in Calgary this year. The official start to the beloved festival kicks off on August 1st and will run until the 28th, so don’t miss it.

We have a feeling this year is going to be an impressive one, so check it out and enjoy.
