Did you know that Canada is home to the “world’s smallest chapel”? Located in Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe is the smallest box-like-church to ever grace the province and world by the sounds of it.
For many southern Ontarians, a trip down to Niagara Falls isn’t something out of the norm so if you find yourself itchin’ for a sightseeing adventure this weekend, we got just the place.
The Living Water Wayside Chapel is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, nestled between two trees next to Walker’s Country Market.

This tiny white house of God was first built in 1964 by the Niagara Falls Christian Reformed Church, according to Niagara Falls Tours. It’s claimed as the smallest in the world, per the tours site but it most definitely is the smallest in Canada.
It’s about 72 square feet and can fit about six people inside, give or take. There are four short pews, two Bibles, and a guest book inside, according to the tours site.

Weddings have even been officiated in the chapel. But make sure to watch your step, most people have to duck their heads to get in and out.
There’s not much else you can do besides snap some pics and get a prayer or two done but it’s a nice pit stop if you’re looking for an experience.
The chapel is open 24 hours a day for all to visit. There may not be a lot to see in the middle of the night so it’s best to stop by in the mornings to get some nice pics. Unless visiting churches at night is your thing, go off and explore.
